Sgt. Charlie Kelly used abdominal thrusts to save one of the township's EMTs, a spokesman for the Brick Police Department said.
While EMT Katelyn Lammer was stationed to screen people entering Brick Town Hall, she began to choke on her food, the department said on Facebook.
"She could not clear her own airway, and that's when things got scary. Luckily, our officers working the Front Desk sprang into action."

In the video, Lammer is seen going to the window for help, where Sgt. Josh Jenssen signals to those near the door who can get out to help her.
Sgt. Kelly and Sgt. Austin Kenny were the first officers to get to her, the door Kelly quickly gave a series of abdominal thrusts to clear a complete airway obstruction. "And this is why we train," the Facebook post said.
"Our EMTs are the best. They've saved numerous lives, helped countless sick and injured people, and they display a level of professionalism and competence throughout this whole COVID crisis that could serve as an example to healthcare workers everywhere.Whenever we've needed them, they've been there for us," the police department wrote on Facebook.
